I am sitting here, slouching is more like it, in a comfy couch in the coffee shop at Mt. Hermon. I cannot believe I am here, planning for our first week of campers. Ventana is over...
It is the weirdest feeling in the world, let me tell you. I miss everyone so much and I am trying to make as smooth a transition as possible into the American culture...and it seems to be doing really well, but that is probably due to the fact that I am at Mt. Hermon, one of the greatest places on earth! I am so blessed to be able to be in full-time ministry here, right after my amazing Ventana experience...I don't have to worry about becoming comfortable and taking steps back. I am able to get into the word everyday...God is so good to me.
My mom flew down to "surprise" me, but I found out...I am smart :) She will be here for the week volunteering on campus, and we will spend our spare moments together. It is really exciting and I can't wait to get her in a big bear hug.

Mario
Mom...i want you to adopt him. He is a little baby that was dropped off at the local orphanage in Porvenir. He has been there for four weeks, and is the most precious baby boy ever! There are fourteen children at that orphanage at this time...all under the age of seven.

I miss those kids so much! They are precious children of God, and I know he is watching over them...even though they live in the lowliest places I have ever seen...they still have a Father in heaven who is looking out for them. How blessed they are!!!

I had five girls laying on my lap. One of them fell asleep, and they were all so sweet. My legs fell asleep though...not the best feeling :)

Peelee, Irene, and Me at Casa de Gabriel. Irene is HIV posotive and has ADHD and Autism. Peelee has Down's Syndrome. They are so sweet. Peelee likes to read books and paint and Irene likes any sound at all...especially clapping and singing.

We went to a conceirto/youth convention dealio with the Porvenir youth group and tons of others youth groups besides. it was super awewsome and fun and crazy and crowded and somehow I ended up in the front row right in front of the speaker and her couldn't stop staring at the tall white girl. It was insane.

A little boy from the Casa de Gabriel. He is five years old and is HIV positive. He tied my legs up with a rope and drug me around the playground outside for like twenty minutes. He is just a regular little Five-year-old with a ton of energy!
Movie Night
One of the Mission Springs staff invited us over to her house to watch Eragon since a few of us are addicts of that book series. We had so much fun and we felt so privledged to be a part of this camp's ministry, if only for a while. The staff here were so welcoming, it was amazing!
Pressure Washing
I had to wear a wierdo outfit as I pressure washed some buildings. I looked like a tuna commercial!
Ninjas
We played a big game of Murder in the Dark during our of our family nights, so all the girls dressed up and painted faces...it was such an awesome game, and yours truly managed to kill six people (one of the largest amounts) before being caught.

Me n' Teshia
My mentor (otherwise known the fem-tor) Teshia is one of the most awesomest people ever! She just graduated from Baylor and worked with Kamp Kanakuk (sp?) for five years. She is really strong spiritually and God has really blessed us girls with her!
Tacoma
We went out for one day into the streets of Tacoma in order to strike up a conversation with and feed a homeless person. Too bad there is a homeless population of about one in Tacoma :) But we still got to talk to some interesting people.
